Terms for The Journey Submissions
Part One – Plain Language Terms
You agree to give us a before and after story about you and your recovery journey.
If we choose to use your story, you grant us the right to edit, publish and sell it in an upcoming book we will publish.
You agree that we are not going to pay you for your story or any money the book might make, and you are okay with that. On our end, a portion of the proceeds from the book will go to further the message of recovery through donations to various non-profit organizations and institutions.
You retain all other rights to your story – we don’t own that part of it. You can put your story in a blog or publish it elsewhere as well. That is entirely up to you.
Part Two – Legal Language Terms (the same as above, but more fancy)
The Author (you) agrees to provide to the Publisher (Aha! Bookpress) a before and after story (Story) about your recovery journey.
The Author hereby grants and assigns Publisher any and all necessary rights to edit, publish, promote and sell the Story in spoken, electronic, digital or print mediums, without reservation.
The Author hereby grants and assigns Publisher the aforesaid rights while also relinquishing, waiving, and foregoing any an all rights to compensation or consideration for any sales or royalties arising from the publication, promotion, and sale of the Story.
Except as provided above, the Author nevertheless retains ownership to the Story and may publish, promote, and sell the Story separate from the Publisher’s aforesaid activities without limitation.
Any litigation arising from any dispute regarding the terms of this agreement shall be filed in the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida.
